Big Cottonwood Retrievers L.L.C. " BCR Dogs"
308-289-6851
When determining the price to ask for puppies, we take several factors under consideration:  Travel expenses, stud fees, health screenings and veterinarian costs. We also consider pedigree as well as various accomplishments (titles) of each particular dog. I will talk more about titles and the importance on the "Girls" page. Then there's the entry fees and the months of training that it took to earn their titles and bring those ribbons home. So you see, we have a huge investment in each of our girls to make sure they will produce a puppy you would be proud to own.

We price all puppies in a litter equally instead of varying between gender and color. Your puppy will come with a full registration and without restriction in most cases. We provide a deposit guarantee agreement (see below) and should anyone in the BCR Family need to re-home their pup we want to be the first to know, they might just have to come home to BCR.

Since becoming incorporated and licensed we have begun charging Nebraska Residents sales tax. We register each litter with AKC, UKC  or both and you will be responsible for fees associated with permanent registration. In addition, your  new family member will need to be no less than (8) weeks old before coming home with you. We provide 1st set of shots & enough of our preferred feed (Purina Pro Plan Performance 30/20) to transition to your choice. We can arrange ground transportation and have even been know to deliver puppies depending on our schedules.
If transporting with a transporter, the puppy will also be microchipped to ensure you receive the correct puppy.

Prices generally range $1200 to as much as $2000, not including tax or delivery. Some of our Girls are Sired by National Field Champions or National Amateur Field Champions so their puppies will likely cost more than if they're sired Grand Champions or Hunting Retriever Champions. Keep in mind the initial cost of a puppy will more than likely be the least costly aspect of your new retriever. The old adage  "You get what you pay for" couldn't be more true. Why take the chance on a "bargain" that hasn't had all the tests and screenings done just to save a few hundred when it might cost you thousands and heartbreak later?   So give me a call and we can talk about what you are looking for in your next Labrador Retriever!

Chilli / Law Litter   Due 2/6/2021     Dark Yellow (Fox Red)

"Law" is a very talented dog owned by Jeb Johnson at Flatlander Kennels. It's been a real pleasure watching him develop along with Jeb. They're both young and have very bright futures. Jeb and Law are a great team going 6/7 at just over 2 years of age to earn his Master Hunter Title and qualify for the 2020 Master Nationals. Unfortunately They were cancelled for 2020. Due to the cancellation Jeb's plan is to take him instead to the 2020 Fall Grand.

With the lofty goal of going to the Grand lots of work had to be done. Law would need 7 HRC Finished passes to earn his HRCH (Hunting Retriever Champion) title to qualify. I personally had the honor of handling Law and earned his first two passes in Western Colorado HRC test in July. He wrapped up his HRCH and added one more pass for good measure.

He's a great looking, friendly and hard charging dog. A pleasure to handle and listens well. Great off switch when he not working.

What can I say about Chill ? The picture below is a great example of how much drive and determination she has. She gives 150% when given the opportunity. Her retrieving desire is off the charts. She's been developing nicely and regularly picks up master level marks in training. She has her Started HRC title and just earned her Junior Hunter title in Colorado. Together she's 8/8 in hunt tests. 2021 will be a big year for this girl.

These should be some nice dark yellow (Fox Red) puppies.

Flash is a dog that lives up to his name! He's as hard charging as they come. He gives 200% everyday weather he's training or competing. He the total package with attitude, intelligence and great looks.
One more pass will get him a Grand Champion Title.

Eva / Barley Litter  We intend to re-peat this breeding in 2021

All Sold.... Barley and Eva blessed us with a nice litter of Five Chocolate puppies and one little black one on July 26th. We chose a Chocolate dog they call "Barley" to sire Eva's next litter. His full name is GRHRCH Westlake's Straight From The Barrel MH. This litter should produce both Blacks and Chocolates. This breeding merges two of the strongest Chocolate Pedigrees in the Country with a black that's loaded with NAFC's, FC and AFC's. Eva and I finally got on the same page earning her Finished Title in August 2019
